To assist with the division’s goal of ensuring new or out-of-state inspectors familiarize themselves with Oregon’s unique system, all inspectors, regardless of their training and experience, are required to complete an Oregon Inspector Certification class. The division accepts a series of national certifications that can be converted to an Oregon equivalent and offers a state exam for those who qualify to sit for an Oregon code certification examination. PleaseĮmail training staff for other certification options at Certification qualifications and trainingīuilding Codes Division (the division) offers several inspector certification cross-training courses to meet ongoing resource challenges in the state, as well as the ongoing challenges of statewide inspector shortages. Due to rising state demand among Oregon municipalities, residential specialty code training courses for 2023 will not be available for the general public.
